Grupa Kęty S.A.’s casting and extrusion plant in Kęty, Poland, for the production of round ingots and profiles and components for aluminum extrusion has been certified to the ASI Performance Standard V2 (2017).
Aluminum Stewardship Initiative ASI announced on May 3 that Grupa Kęty S.A.’s plant in Kęty, Poland has been certified to the ASI Performance Standard. The company is the largest manufacturer of aluminum profiles and components in Poland with an annual production capacity of 90,000 tons. The foundry, which consists of four production lines, can produce up to 50,000 tonnes of round ingots for aluminum extrusion per year from raw materials including aluminum scrap, with an output of 31,000 tonnes in 2022.
The ASI Certification Program was developed through an extensive multi-stakeholder consultation process and is the only comprehensive voluntary sustainability standards initiative for the aluminum value chain. The ASI Performance Standard V3 (2022) was published in May 2022 following a multi-year revision process. Defined 11 principles and 62 guidelines under the three sustainability pillars of environment, society and governance to address sustainability issues in the aluminum value chain, including biodiversity, labor rights, indigenous rights and greenhouse gases key issues such as emissions.
Grupa Kęty S.A.’s independent third-party certification is carried out by TUV.
