.Norsk Hydro reported revenues of NOK 64.793 billion (the same below) in the second quarter, up 87% from NOK 34.559 billion in the same period last year. In the first half of the year, Hydro generated cumulative revenue of 111.409 billion kroner, compared with 66.51 billion kroner in the same period last year.
In the second quarter, Hydro reported net operating income of 11.136 billion kroner, compared with 2.397 billion kroner a year earlier. In the first half, Hydro’s net operating income reached 17.547 billion kroner, compared with 4.278 billion kroner in the same period last year.
In the second quarter, Norsk Hydro’s adjusted EBITDA was 11.594 billion kroner, compared with 6.598 billion kroner in the same period last year, up 76 percent year-on-year. This was mainly due to higher prices for all varieties of metals and alumina during the period as well as stronger extrusion business performance and currency advantages, which contributed positively to revenue, but were partially offset by higher fixed expenses and higher raw material costs.
In the second quarter, Hydro produced 2,736 KMT of bauxite, up 3% from 2,660 KMT in the same period last year. In the first half, Hydro bauxite production totaled 5,375 kilotons, compared with 5,473 kilotons in the same period last year.
In the second quarter, Hydro alumina production was 1,536 KMT, compared with 1,586 KMT in the same period last year, a decline of 3%. Hedrow ALUMINA PRODUCTION IN THE FIRST HALF TOTALED 3,054 kilotons, compared WITH 3,126 KILOtons in the same period last year.
In the second quarter, Hydro produced 532 kilotons of primary aluminum, compared with 561 kilotons in the same period last year, a decline of 5%. In the first half, HYDRO’s cumulative primary aluminium production was 1,072 kilotonnes, compared with 1,100 kilotonnes in the same period last year.
